Upcoming AEROSMITH Plans Force JOE PERRY To Drop Solo Tour Idea
April 2, 2005As much as he wanted to play some shows for his upcoming self-titled solo album, AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry has decided it's not going to happen, according to Launch Radio Networks. Perry told Launch that with AEROSMITH planning a tour and live album for the fall, there just isn't enough time to do his own thing: "I still need some time off before we hit the road with AEROSMITH, which is gonna be sometime in the last week of September, first week of October," he said. "There's gonna be a live album that's gonna come out around the same time. So that's right around the corner, and I didn't want to spend the next month-and-a-half or two months on a tour bus, only to turn around and start it up again — 'cause when AEROSMITH goes out again, it's gonna be for a while."
It's possible that Perry could do a couple of "high profile" shows in New York City in conjunction with the album release, but that hasn't been confirmed. "Joe Perry" comes out May 3.
